Have you ever wondered what a book would look like if it were freed of it’s task of transporting text? For  long time, the primary function of a book was it’s reproducibility and thus it’s availability for a broad mass. The book can become a carrier of mind-altering thoughts and information and also an object of use. In addition to digital forms, it is still the most important human communication prosthesis. But if we deprive the book of it’s primary purpose, we open up a new world for it. If it doesn’t have to follow a certain task, what can it do?This artistic diploma thesis is my personal answer to the questiom just formulated. The complex of works shown is an examination of the book in te contex of visual art. It plays with the medium and it’s form, touches on components of design as well as artisanal aspects of book art.
