At the beginning of the book, the reader is introduced and prepared with sentences and dialogue that escalate into difficult conversations about destruction, the struggle for land, grief, and heartbreak. The goal is for the reader to feel tension, a sense of struggle, and despair. The accent in the art book is the lepore, which contains illustrations that will further contribute to the situation in which the people were represented through the eyes of the artist.
