The photos were taken in April 2020, during the longest curfew. They don’t only show people in routine and ordinary activities. On the contrary, given the context, they clearly show the human aspiration for something new and different. Under the abovementioned conditions, the terrace is the only place to satisfy this aspiration. That small space where the sun and “clean” air reach is a symbol of the human need for openness of experience and hope for something different, and this is based on the essential need for freedom.
