The core

By opening up my intimate world, giving fragments of a diary character, I look at my life with a migraine, bearing witness to a process that started a long time ago, which through photography reconciles science and art (the form of a diary entry and a medical report), implying that existential, just like artistic processes must be investigated and that the challenge is to search for their essence. Conceived as a hospital file, this book can be viewed in several ways, with the awareness that the fear and desire for another attack (either on the organ or the spirit), as well as general uncertainty, is the only constant of my work because it always reveals the unknown – the new. No process completion. The unknown of the artistic and the emotional through the prism of illness clashes with fear and beauty. By exploring the concept of process, I give science the artistic power to paint the story of its stages and outcomes through the observed matrices of the disease with other important processes. Divided into three basic units, by choosing the materials that carry my story – glass, and metal, the book should remind me of that staid inner world, all overstressed, which is torn by something and taken out, in a vulnerable, fragile search for a solution without knowing the outcome, to return to that apparent stability. Treating the Polaroid film in the central part of the work with the feelings evoked through the diary and the medications applied in the medical reports, I want to reduce the photograph to its essentials – emulsion and chemistry. I peel off the membrane from the photo taken and start a treatment process that I cannot adjust or know the end of. With micro-symbolism, artistry, the relation of masses, the research of genres and physical manifestations of photography, but also the dedicated research of the process and the recognition of (ir)regularities in it, I do not give an overview, but I want to discover the core of the problem, in fact, to at least get closer to it.
