Code – decoding the true fictions
Using the concept of [cryptex], (neologism, Dan Brown, Da Vinci Code), the book is a themed way to decode, decipher, or at least keep the reader’s attention on its content – which are true stories from the author’s life. The goal is to achieve the reader’s focus, and the method is codes.
The book is a criticism of the focus that is being lost in modern times, and it is reflected in reading and by analogy – interpersonal relations today. She asks the question: “How much do we try to get to know the people around us?” Ultimately, the goal is to offer a chance to get to know one person (the author). The codes were created by the author, based on the analysis of known examples of codes, e.g. programming language, visual symbols, padlocks with a code, etc. They are then selected so that they correspond in concept and materialization to the story they encode. By breaking down the “cryptex” into its constituent parts and conceptualizing each of them, we came to the form of a book and three main parts:
binding (combination lock), cover (box), and story (hidden message).
The content of the book consists of pages of A4 format, 8 real, and 6 fictitious. Each of them has a role:
1. Dedication 2. Title 3. About the title 4. Chapter I. 5. Chapter II 6. Contents
The cover is a mechanism in itself. They are mentioned in the first and last story. The link can be unlocked at the end, after completing each story. This puts the emphasis not on the key but on the dedicated time.
